NYC

This one took a while to post but, as some of you may know, I spent some time in NYC this summer and during this time I began putting together a compilation of songs that reminded me of my favorite city, from the night life to hot tourist spots, to just walking up and down NYC with nothing my but my headphones. Here is my NYC mixtape that I threw together, finally. Enjoy:

11-4-11, 11-5-11

I’m really tired as I am writing this so please excuse any errors. It’s currently 1:30am and i know If I don’t write this now, I won’t later…

This weekend has been amazing for me so far. Friday night, Spoon held a private show to those who RSVP’d on their site the short time that it was available. It was an amazing show, I didn’t get too many videos because my battery died but I got a few, here’s my youtube channel.

Saturday I spent all day at auditorium shores where the FunFunFunFest is currently being held and I had the opportunity to see some great bands. I began the day over by the Orange Stage where Future Islands were performing. It was a great set, unfortunately they had a few tech problems at first but overall, it was great! Awesome way to start the afternoon.

Donald Glover performed on two different stages, one with his comedy act and the other with his alter-ego, Childish Gambino. Both shows were great! I was able to see him back in May and both times he did not disappoint. He played a few songs from his upcoming album, Camp. Check out some of my videos here

I really wish I would have been able to catch M83, but it was during another show of mine. Hopefully I can catch them next time.

Oh, we also caught the last 10 minutes of Dan Deacon’s set, however when we looked on stage he was nowhere to be found, actually he was set up somewhere lost in the crowd. Who was on the stage though was Mr. Ryan Gosling. That also explains the high number of female attendees surrounding this particular stage. But, yeah, he was just there… jamming.

I caught Spoon’s act again tonight, I did not get any video of the event considering I already did the previous night and well, I just wanted to enjoy.

Overall, I had a lot of fun, there was a bit of a dust problem throughout the day but fortunately for us they sold bandanas on site.

I really wish I would have had the change to see Passion Pit & Public Enemy’s performances on Friday but maybe I’ll catch them both next time their in central Texas.

How to Make it In America vol. 2

A few weeks ago the How to Make It in America vol 2 mixtape was released to promote the new season on HBO.  I finally got around to downloading it, and I love it! I have gone through it beginning to end a few times this week alone. I also want to note that I really like Kid Cudi’s take on NYC in the intro.
Here is a little preview of one of the tracks that I have really grown fond of. I thought I would attach a link to download the full mixtape, if you are curious too.
